FOCUS on Sustainable Procurement
With the assistance of Hunter Regional Procurement, the Regional Contract Managers Committee and LGSA's Sustainable Choice Program, a series of resources designed to improve councils sustainable procurement practices are being developed.
Outcomes of the FOCUS on Sustainable Procurement project will be:
- An Ecological Sustainable Development (ESD) Schedule - this schedule is designed to be included in the major goods and services contracts released by councils;
- A template Sustainable Procurement Policy that is able to me modified by each council for their particular situation, but be regionally consistent across the region;
- Staff capacity building around issues of sustainable procurement.
The ESD Schedule should be avaialble for use by December 2010 with the template policy developed soon after.
