Detailed Description

The aim of the campaign is to reduce the incidence of illegal dumping in the region, through raising awareness about the environmental, social and economic consequences of dumping and alternatives available to dispose of waste lawfully.

A campaign plan outlines the suggested campaign outcomes, activities, monitoring requirements and opportunities for HCCREMS to assist member councils to deliver a campaign as part of a regional initiative in early 2011. All aspects of the campaign can be tailored based on the capacity and interests of Council.

Attached to the campaign plan is a toolkit of template resources and campaign materials that have been developed by HCCREMS with council assistance and input.

The toolkit consist of:
• A campaign plan, and monitoring and evaluation framework
• Template media releases
• Newspaper advertisements
• Factsheets
• Website content
• Example letters
• Information and monitoring forms for customer service staff

The campaign plan and resources can be adapted and added to in order to suit the needs and capacity of councils wishing to deliver the campaign.
