Sustainable Urban Water Events

HCCREMS organises regular events and workshops in the Central Coast, Hunter and Lower North Coast regions. We are now planning the 2010-2011 program of events for our region that will be delivered as part of the broader FOCUS on Sustainability program.

To discuss any ideas you may have for water capacity building events for council and local water utility staff in our region, please contact us. Previous events, including papers can be downloaded from our past events page.

Our upcoming events follow our key Focus on Sustainability project themes:

Facilities Savers Events on how to achieve water and energy savings in priority Council facilities.

Natural Asset Management events on decision support tools to better integrate natural assets into Council's long term asset management and strategic planning.

WSUD Elements and Best Practice Planning workshops which aim to improve our practical knowledge in both the technical and organisational aspects that underpin integrated water cycle management (IWCM) and water sensitive urban design (WSUD).

Upcoming Events

Wednesday 22nd September , 9.30am-4.30pm, East Maitland

Fundamentals of Swale and Sediment Basin Design

This one day workshop covers the fundamentals of how to design better swales and
sediment basins. It is presented by Tony Weber. Participants will be given the opportunity
to apply the course content themselves through a series of guided worked examples.
A field trip or council case studies will conclude the day.

Cost: $200 per participant (ex gst). Currently only offered to staff from HCCREMS councils and local water utilities.

For other organisations within the HCCREMS region who are implementing WSUD projects:Our priority is to offer this workshop to councils initially. If places remain available after RSVPs close, we may be able to accommodate requests to attend. Please use the form to register your interest. You will be notified of available places on September 7th. Cost for non-council attendees is $400 (ex GST) per person.

HCCREMS member council OFFER - Training Credits:
