Behavioural Insights workshop:
Enhancing behaviour change in waste and resource recovery for local government professionals
A survey conducted by Local Government NSW and the Environment Protection Authority in 2017 shows that behaviour change is the most desirable capacity building topic for local government waste and resource recovery professionals.
The EPA therefore worked with UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures (ISF) to provide this new one day course on Behavioural Insights for all local government waste and resource recovery professionals to learn why undesirable behaviours persist despite efforts to change them, and how to better understand and break down the behaviours your programs are targeting. It will also provide hands-on practice in applying insights from the behavioural sciences, to improve the effectiveness of your waste behaviour change and engagement efforts.
The course is being delivered around NSW throughout 2019. Jenni Downes, a Senior Research Consultant at ISF, will lead the short course.
