Regional Policy and Program Manager

Closing date extended to 11 May 2020

COVID-19 means we have altered the way in which we are recruiting new team members. As an organisation we moved immediately to working from home with competent online systems and procedures for doing so. Our team feel supported in their new work environment by participating in regular online face-to-face and phone meetings plus flexibility of working hours.

As an inclusive and well-reputed organisation we are committed to continuing to support our team as they conduct business from home. We understand this is not necessarily an ideal situation or time for bringing on new team members but our growth and progressive portfolio means we need to stay focussed, work closely together (even when this means remote working) and communicate effectively so we can achieve great outcomes for the Hunter Region.

If this role seems like the one for you but you have hesitations due to influences of COVID-19 we recommend you give us a call to talk it over.

In terms of our recruitment process this means:

  1. We’re providing more time to submit applications given the impacts of COVID-19 on us all.
  2. Our recruitment process will be conducted online
  3. For the successful applicant business equipment can be supplied for you to work from home.
  4. While it is expected that you will live within the Hunter Region to carry out your role with the Hunter Joint Organisation we understand that during this time that may not be possible and relocation may need to happen at a later date.

Position highlights

• Develop, advocate and deliver policy and programs on behalf of the Hunter Region and its member Councils
• Lead and manage the Hunter Joint Organisation’s Environment Program
• Dramatically expand your network and build key stakeholder relationships
• Be part of creating a sustainable future for the Hunter Region and Central Coast
